This weekend Dowra will be an intensive set of courses focusing on acquiring the essential Islamic knowledge, which every morally responsible individual must learn in order to be successful in this life and the hereafter. The primary intent of the Dowra is to ensure that each attendee obtains a well grounded understanding of the necessary knowledge of our religion.
The program will include the following sessions:
# Introductory studies in the Essentials of Belief (‘Aqeedah), Purifi cation (Tahaarah), and Prayer (Salah). These sessions will be based on an explanation of the famous Hadramiyy text, Ar-Risalah al-Jami’ah. This text was authored by the famous Imam As-Sayyid Ahmad bin Zayn Al-Habashiyy (died 1144 AH).
# Intensive educational workshops covering the development of Islamic jurisprudence (Al-Fiqh), along with the formation and development of its famous schools of thought.
# A detailed lecture about the well known term, Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama’ah, who they are, and why they are given this title.
# Lastly, we will have intensive seminars on Islamic spirituality. These topics will be addressed based on chapters from the book, An-Nujum Al-Lami’ah, authored by Shaykh Imadudeen Abu Hijleh.
